On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina slammed ashore devastating New Orleans and
other parts of the Gulf Coast region. Hundreds, if not thousands of lives were lost, billions of dollars of damage
done and one of America's most beautiful parts of the country devastated.
An often overlooked element of the storm is the effect it continues to have on
the area's animal and pet population. Many pets were abandoned and are now in dire need of shelter, medical supplies,
food and water.
Just4Pooches is donating a portion of September sales to the Hurricane Katrina
Animal Welfare Fund. In addition, we are taking monetary donations at the store which will be included with the
store donation.
The Hurricane Katrina Animal Welfare Fund
is federally registered (EIN 20-3407121) and is operated entirely by volunteer help --- every penny received will
go toward helping the animals and animal care providers that have been severely impacted by this storm.
